The Firewire Mindcraft is a clean, function-first shortboard co-designed by Kelly Slater and Daniel Thomson, built for speed, drive and quick turns.

It works from about 2 ft to just overhead and makes a strong everyday board or a small step-up. Firewire recommends running it as a quad or thruster.

• Torpedo nose with low swing weight
• Bump-wing round tail for balance through turns
• Moderate performance rocker with tail kick for pivoting in the pocket
• Single to double concave; volume centered under a rolled deck with soft, low-volume rails
