What makes Nike SB different

Nike SB (Skateboarding) isn't a lifestyle sneaker with a skate logo on it — the line is engineered to take the impact and abrasion of actually skating.

Zoom Air cushioning
A low-profile Zoom Air unit softens the landing off stairs and drops without killing your feel for the board.
Built to skate
Reinforced toes, tougher suedes and leathers, and a grippy herringbone tread — made to survive griptape, not just look good.
Dialed board feel
Lower to the ground with a locked-in fit and a padded tongue and collar, so you actually feel what's under your feet.
A real skate shop
Parrot is an authorized Nike SB retailer — we carry general-release models and get limited SB drops.

The Nike SB models, explained

A few families cover most of what you'll want — from the everyday Dunk to Ishod's Air Max pro model. Here's how they differ.

Pro model
Nike Air Max Ishod
Ishod Wair's signature

Ishod Wair's pro model with visible Air Max cushioning — maximum impact protection with a responsive, springy ride. A modern SB built for powerful, fast skating.

Best for: heavier impact, bigger sets, all-day comfort.

Nike SB Janoski
Stefan Janoski's classic

Slim, low-profile, and minimalist — one of the most recognizable skate shoes ever made. A vulcanized-style sole gives excellent board feel. Also available as a slip-on.

Best for: board feel, flick, and clean simple looks.

How Nike SB fits

Fit varies a little by model. Use these as a starting point — and when in doubt, come try a pair on.

01
SB Dunk Low Pro
Fits true to size for most skaters. Some go a half size down for a snugger, locked-in board feel.
02
Janoski
Runs slightly long and narrow — a lot of people go a half size down, especially in the slip-on.
03
Air Max Ishod
True to size with a roomier toe box and more underfoot cushion. Take your normal size.
04

How Nike SB drops work

Some Nike SB shoes you can shop any day; others release in tiny numbers and vanish. Here's the difference — and how to catch the good ones.

General release (GR)
The core, everyday colorways of the Dunk, Janoski and Ishod that you can shop whenever they're in stock.
Quickstrikes & collabs (QS)
Limited SB drops and collaborations release in small numbers and sell out fast — often the same day.
Catch them at Parrot
As an authorized skate shop we get SB allocations. Check the Nike SB collection and follow us for what's landing.

Common questions

Nike SB Dunks are built to skate: a Zoom Air unit for impact, a thicker padded tongue and collar, and a grippier, more durable sole. Regular (lifestyle) Dunks share the silhouette but skip the skate-specific cushioning and reinforcement, so they don't hold up to griptape the same way.
For most people, yes — the SB Dunk Low Pro fits true to size, and some skaters go a half size down for a snugger board feel. The Janoski tends to run slightly long and narrow (many size down a half), while the Air Max Ishod fits true with a roomier toe box.
Zoom Air is Nike's low-profile, responsive cushioning. In skate shoes it sits close to your foot to absorb the impact of landing tricks while keeping you connected to the board — protection without the bulk of a big midsole.
The Nike SB Dunk Low Pro is the easiest first pick — cushioned, durable, versatile, and forgiving as you learn. If you want maximum impact protection for bigger drops, the Air Max Ishod is a great step up.
Yes — the SB line is designed specifically for skateboarding, with impact cushioning, reinforced high-wear areas, and grippy herringbone soles. That's the whole point of the "SB." Lifestyle Dunks that look similar aren't built for it.
