Surf & Gear
What surfboard should I start with?
Most beginners progress fastest on a stable board with enough volume to paddle easily and catch more waves. Use our Surfboard Guide or contact the shop with your height/weight and where you’ll surf.
How do I know what wetsuit thickness I need?
Wetsuit thickness depends on water temperature and wind. Fit matters as much as thickness. Start with our Wetsuit Guide for a simple breakdown.
Do I need boots, gloves, or a hood?
When water temps drop, boots (and sometimes gloves/hoods) can extend sessions dramatically. If you tell us the season and where you surf, we can recommend what’s worth it.
What’s the most important surf accessory to buy?
A properly sized leash and the right traction/wax are essential for safety and control. If you’re unsure, ask the shop and we’ll help match it to your board.
Skate
What skateboard size should I get?
Deck width should match your stance, shoe size, and skating style (street vs park vs cruising). Use the Skateboard Guide for quick sizing.
Should I buy a complete skateboard or build a custom setup?
Completes are the easiest, fastest start—especially for beginners and kids. Custom setups are great when you want to dial in trucks/wheels for a specific style.
What wheels should I get for street vs cruising?
Harder wheels slide and feel faster on smooth surfaces (street/park). Softer wheels are smoother and more comfortable on rough pavement (cruising).
Do you help with skateboard setup questions?
